Aloha,
"Country Club" or CC, was found in the road by a country club after having been hit by a car which just kept going.
A kind old man thought enough to pull her body out of the road so that at least she wouldn't be ground into the pavement, but then was totally surprised when this cat actually started to crawl away from him on the side of the road. She crawled under a fence and into bushes at the local country club.
Supporters of ACF tried to scale the fence and "catch" the cat, but were unable to grab her. Distraught they came down to the Center which is right down the road. The doctor went back down to the country club, climbed the fence and through the bushes and literally picked this cat up by the only thing she could reach – her tail. CC was wholly unimpressed and we know why because after a set of Xrays we could see that two of her lumbar vertebrae are somewhat separated from each other. It's called a vertebral dislocation and will require pins to make it stable. CC can't stand and she requires help with urination and defecation but her back feet and tail still move so she has some chance of walking again. Irregardless we will have the dislocation corrected because it's painful when not stabilized. Then if she needs a wheelchair, we can help her with that. She's only been with us a few days, but even in such pain, she's not trying to bite or scratch as we move her to clean and change bedding or help empty her bladder or bowels. She's one tough kitty and we're honored to be able to help her recuperate!
The surgeon couldn't see her until Monday the 14th and a basic estimate for surgery ranges from $2000 to $4000. Any help you could give us with this bill would be hugely appreciated since this is not the kind of surgery anyone but a board certified surgeon should be doing.
